Research Overview
Chuanrong (Cindy) Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Geography and the Center for Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of Connecticut (UConn). With over 20 years of experience, her research interests and expertise lie in GIS, remote sensing, and spatial analysis. She has focused extensively on the spatial analysis of environmental and socioeconomic data, utilizing spatial statistics and GIS methodologies. Dr. Zhang has published three books and nearly 200 articles in these fields. She has also successfully collaborated on numerous research projects funded by prestigious organizations, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and NASA.
