Research Overview

1) My research interests include:
a) unauthorized/irregular migration, especially the impact of precarious migration status on access to the social determinants of health,
b) pedagogical efforts to train U.S. health care professionals in “cultural competence” and “human rights,” and
c) “right to health” claims and discourses in the United States.
2) I am currently beginning a new collaborative, multidisciplinary study of the impact of long-term stays to unregulated “pirate babysitters” in South Tel Aviv, Israel, on the health and development of children born in Israel to parents with precarious migration status.
