Research Overview

My research interest focuses on self-reported disability, altered physical activity, and neuromuscular dysfunction in individuals with patellofemoral pain. My overall goal is to understand the influence of chronic pain on lower extremity function and develop appropriate interventions to improve the subjective and health-related quality of life in patients with patellofemoral pain. Currently, I am investigating pain variability and its influence on physical activity and neuromuscular function of the lower extremity. Additionally, I am investigating novel measures to assess hip muscle function in the patellofemoral pain population. My past research experiences include therapeutic interventions to improve self-reported disability, optimizing electrical stimulation to improve muscle function, and evaluating clinician-friendly biomechanical assessments of various functional tasks.
