Research Overview

My lab’s research interests revolve around the regulation of muscle and muscle satellite cells (stem cells) by different growth and disease conditions. We currently have two ongoing projects. The first is investigating the effects of cancer cachexia on satellite cell function and the ability of muscle to regenerate using a mouse model of colon carcinoma induced cachexia. The second project is investigating the effects of poor maternal nutrition (under- and over-feeding) on pre- and post-natal muscle development and growth using an ovine model.
