Research Interests

Dr. Doucette is a research scientist at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and an assistant professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Eastern Connecticut State University. He is an injury epidemiologist with a focus on reducing firearm violence. Dr. Doucette was the Primary Investigator on the NVDRS New Investigator Research Award Assessment of Non-worker Deaths during Workplace Homicide Incidents and the Primary Investigator on the NIOSH-Education and Research Center’s Pilot Project Research Training Award Measuring the Effect of Changes in Parking Lot Laws on Firearm-related Workplace Homicides. He received his PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he was a member of the Center for Gun Policy and Research. Dr. Doucette has previously conducted a national-level survey of firearm owners, which was awarded the American Public Health Association’s Best Paper of the Year Award, 2018. He has evaluated the impact of state-level firearm policy on homicides within the workplace. Dr. Doucette has published in journals such as Annals of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Public Health, and Injury Prevention
