Research Overview
Dr. Reagan is a Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with 18 years of expertise providing primary care to ethnically diverse persons with multiple chronic illnesses including diabetes. Dr. Reagan, a member of the Center for Correctional health at the University of Connecticut, has served as project director of the New York University study site for a multisite NHLBI funded RO1 (HL118189-01) testing the efficacy of self-management training and support in virtual environments, conducted research to enhance correctional nursing workforce development and explored the relationships of diabetes knowledge, self-care behavior, illness representation and glycemic control among incarcerated persons. Dr. Reagan’s research interests include developing and testing behavioral interventions to improve self-management of chronic conditions specifically diabetes and quality of life among vulnerable populations -more recently person’s with a history of an incarceration experience.
