Research Overview
My primary research interests are optimizing exercise as lifestyle therapy to prevent, manage, and treat chronic disease, namely cardiovascular disease and hypertension. Currently, I am part of a research project team named SPIRE: Syntheses of Prevention Intervention Research in Exercise, which investigates the optimal exercise dose or the Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type (FITT) principle of exercise prescription to lower blood pressure (BP) among adults with hypertension. From my work with this project has resulted in my masters thesis, investigating concurrent exercise and its efficacy as antihypertensive therapy.
