Research Overview

Areas of interest include: oral health interventions, behavioral interventions, research in clinical dentistry (fluoride therapy, and dental materials.) I would like to work on Oral Health Curriculums for use in a k-12 education of children, and Health Behaviors affecting oral health and nutrition of children.

At YNHH I initiated “Early Oral Health Infant Visits”, the program was implemented in the Medical Primary Care setting of Pediatrics. An oral exam, anticipatory guidance about oral health, and fluoride varnish was administered in conjunction with well child visits. The program is in its third year, and has gained support from the medical staff. Their were over 2000 visits administered.
