Her program of research has focused on adherence to antiretroviral medications for the last decade, and more recently on PrEP adherence. She is a behavioral scientist on HPTN067, the ADAPT study, and HPTN069, Next PrEP, and collaborates with iPrEx, the CHRP Path project and San Francisco Department of Public Health’s PrEP demonstration project. She is the co-chair for the International Adherence Conference, and has particular interest in social-behavioral intervention development and evaluation, bridging science and practice, and raising awareness of on-going disparities in HIV treatment and prevention. In her work with a number of PrEP projects in the RCT, open label and demonstration project phases, as well as within the Behavioral Science Consultative Group with the Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC), she has contributed substantially to shaping measurement and counseling approaches to study-product and PrEP use.
