My primary research interest incorporates medical anthropological and epidemiological approaches to the study of chronic disease health disparities, specifically type 2 diabetes risk and management among Latino and Caribbean immigrants as well as other ethnic minorities. I focus on ill representation and its relationship with self-management of chronic diseases, particularly among individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
