Research Overview
My research is aimed at developing an effective T cell based cancer immunotherapy. Our working models include Human melanoma and Breast Cancer. Among the approaches we are pursuing includes, generation of robust and long lasting anti-tumor T cell responses against human tumor associated antigens from natural T cells, derived from human peripheral blood, as well as by engineering normal T cells with tumor associated antigenic epitope specific transgenic T cell receptor (TCR), an approach termed TCR engineering. In addition, I am also working on utilizing human pluripotent stem cells for developing patient specific T cell based cancer immunotherapy approach.
