Amy R. Mobley, PhD, RD
Assistant Professor, Nutritional Sciences (Principal Investigator)
Research Overview
My research interests comprise topics or approaches related to changing dietary behavior. These include obesity prevention, nutrition education, social marketing, and food security. Most recently, I am engaging in research to implement and evaluate an obesity prevention program with preschool children and their parents and caregivers. I hope to expand this project and other obesity related projects while involved with InCHIP. Some of my previous work at other institutions include a social marketing campaign (in progress) to increase milk consumption in older, low-income women; behaviorally-based weight management research in military soldiers, and research to evaluate the use of technology to provide nutrition education for low income adults. I hope to build interdisciplinary relationships and develop projects with other affiliates of InCHIP who have common interests.
Education
My BS degree was in Applied Nutrition from Penn State University. My MS degree was in Human Nutrition from Ohio State University where I also completed a dietetic internship to become a registered dietitian. My PhD was in nutrition with a focus on public health and health behavior from the University of Maryland.
