Alexander Hogan, MD
Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, UConn School of Medicine (Affiliate)
My research experience is in pediatric asthma quality improvement, and using clinical and administrative databases for clinical research. My overall career goal is to become an independent investigator in pediatric hospital medicine focusing on research addressing quality and patient safety for children with asthma. I recently completed a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship during which I obtained a Master’s of Science in Clinical and Translational Research Methods. During fellowship, I completed two projects which have resulted in one published article and one manuscript currently under review. I conducted a health services research project which revealed that premature infants receive significantly more medical radiation exposure than term infants after discharge from their birth hospitalization. In addition, I led a quality-improvement research project which improved the accuracy of asthma controller therapy from 60% to 80%.
