Drs. Burgess, Papadimitrakopoulos, and Jain have a 18-year long history of collaboration, bringing expertise in drug delivery, electrochemistry, and computer engineering, respectively. This team has developed pioneering technologies to realize a miniaturized (0.5×0.5×5 mm), fully implantable biosensor. InCHIP PI’s Fisher, Gorin, Gans, and White contribute their expertise in health behavior, spanning the fields of obesity, nutrition, diabetes, and exercise science. Drs. Dey and Chon bring their respective expertise in biostatistics and vital sign monitoring.
The merging of these historically successful research teams and PIs serve to create a core with unparalleled depth and breadth of expertise. Bio-CHIP will also grow to add investigators with research specialties in genomics, big data, and patient-centered design.
