Research Overview

My professional experience in healthcare spans over thirty years of nursing in acute, critical care, trauma, pediatrics and for the last ten years has included a position in nursing education at UConn. Over the past five years I have develop interest and expertise in interprofessional education. I am a founding member of our Committee on Interprofessional Excellence in Healthcare, co-chair of our Dean’s afternoon for Interprofessional Education. I have been active in the HRSA funded GOTCARE! program in the School of Nursing, led by PI, Millicent Malcolm. I am currently expanding my full time faculty appointment to include clinical practice in pain management at UConn Health. My clinic will be developed using an interprofessional format, incorporating students from our health related schools in an interprofessional collaborative practice model that will provide comprehensive, evidence based care for patient with chronic pain.
