Research Overview

I have been designing and leading large research projects for over ten years focused on translating research into practice. Two of the more recent studies have been faith-based, including Sister Talk Hartford, using Community Based Participatory Research methods. I maintain a close, collaborative relationship with African American and Black church leaders who continue to advise my research team on a regular basis. In addition to my own research, I am the director of the Donaghue Center for Translating Research into Practice & Policy (TRIPP) at UCHC, an academic research center that fosters T2 research. I am also a Co-investigator and the director of the Community Engagement Core of the University of Connecticut’s application to obtain a Clinical and Translational Science Award
